Matey’s Famous Steaks & Pizza original COOPER CHEESESTEAK Michael Matey
Owner
This isn’t an ordinary cheeseteak. Made with fresh-sliced rib eye beef,
blended with sautéed onions and melted Cooper cheese, this sandwich is piled
into a fresh-baked roll and served with a side of house-made steak sauce.
What makes the Original Cooper Cheesesteak
different from the 24 other cheesesteak varieties
served at Matey’s is the cheese — Cooper cheese
has a distinct flavor and smooth texture, that when
combined with the other ingredients makes a
fantastic sandwich.
“This sandwich has become our best selling
sandwich to date,” said Matey’s owner Michael
Matey. “In fact, it has caught the attention of the
Cooper cheese company from Wisconsin. They paid
us a visit in early spring to see what all the talk was
about. They enjoyed it so much they featured a
video of this sandwich and Matey’s in their national
advertising campaign!”

and multiple layers of the buttery dough wrapped about
the filling makes this dish special.
Mattie’s Strudel Haus currently offers 14 savory and
six sweet varieties of strudel, says owner Kelly Vlasics.
“I’m the third-generation strudel artist and I learned from
Grandma Mattie and my mother,” she says. “I’m teaching
my niece now. Many customers come to me saying, ‘my
grandmother made this, but I never learned, so your
strudel brings back fond memories of when grandma
made it!’ ”
