Rustic and vintage weddings first picked up popularity several

discover that they can be more budget-friendly and offer more Kasey Lynn’s Catering

events feel less formal, but still give the bride and groom everything
they’re expecting for their big day.
“People want a more rustic setting because they want to step away
from tradition a bit. The whole idea of weddings has changed,” says
Stephanie Stevens, owner of Bell Gate Farm. “I think people are really
looking for getting the most value and the best bang for their buck, but
while getting a different kind of wedding that still says it’s a beautiful
day and a really special place.”
Food truck fever
Food trucks have been a growing trend in the Valley for quite some
time now, and the convenience of mobile food has created a hunger for
their services that has extended to formal events. While the trend might
not be for everyone, food trucks are casual and work for events that
have space outdoors for guests to mingle or sit.
The Greater Lehigh Valley Mobile Food Alliance has more than 30
trucks listed as “mobile food members” on its website, glvmobilefood.org,
featuring a wide range of cuisine. Erin and Stephen Arnold, who married
in September 2016 at Independent Park in Upper Macungie, had their
big day catered by three local food trucks: Stuffed to the Grill, Aioli and
Trixie’s Treats.
“To this day, people still talk about the food at our wedding. People
went crazy, and the food was so good. It was so much fun,” says Erin
Arnold. “They had never been to a food truck wedding, and liked it
because of the options they had. There were vegan options, vegetarian
options and meat lover’s options. They could eat either outdoors or
indoors. Nobody went home hungry that night. And because the food
trucks knew how many guests we were expecting, we didn’t waste any
food. Just to see how much everyone enjoyed everything, we knew we
had made the right decision.”
If you’re looking to book a truck for your big day, use the form on
the “contact” page of GLVFA’s website. Keep in mind that a well-run
and experienced food truck can handle about 75 to 100 guests, and
since the average wedding has between 150-200 guests, you may
want to think about hiring multiple food trucks — and you’ll definitely
want to schedule ahead of time to confirm their availability.
Rustic, elegant flowers are always in demand
When it comes to flowers, “a lot is going to depend on the venue,”
says Jonathan Morrissey, general manager of Rich Mar Florist in
Allentown. “If the wedding is at a higher-end venue, wedding parties are
