blockbuster films and book series, “The
Hunger Games” to classic fantasy weddings
suitable for Cinderella and her prince, weddings
as unique as the couple that is celebrating.
Some overall trends include ceremonies held
earlier in the day. The time switch gives couples
more time to celebrate their nuptials with their
guests with a luncheon instead of a catered
sit-down meal later in the day.
Metallics and glass are making flashy comebacks
in both reception décor and accessories for hair
and more. Think mercury glass for centerpieces in
metallic and even pastel shades. Here are some
other trends to keep an eye on this year.

Some wedding gowns aren’t even
gowns in the traditional sense. While
there are plenty of floor-length styles
with full, flowing skirts and trains,
some of the styles being showcased
this year include skirt and crop tops,
pantsuits and even shorts sets.
A growing trend is the addition of
a third dress for the bride. Brides are
choosing to wear the big elaborate
gown for the ceremony and photos
before changing to a shorter dress
or more comfortable clothes for the
reception. Some are going with a
third dress for the after party.
Gone are the days of shades
of white. Pale pastels are taking
more of a center stage and gaining
in popularity.
