A few years ago I sat next to a lovely, older woman on an airplane. As we
exchanged a few friendly and typical travelers’ greetings, I learned that she by The Morning Call Media Group.
was on her way to a swimming competition, a sport she began at the age
of 76. She had just turned 84 and was recognized as a champion in her Vice President of Advertising
class numerous times over. As someone who had never learned to swim, I Jim Feher
was inspired by the courage and energy of this fit and sharp female who

retirement. I signed up for swimming classes on my return and while I have Steve Boyle
yet to even contemplate a competition, I am discovering that conquering a
fear of the water is not only invigorating, but also a great way to maintain Advertising Production Manager

on the many benefits of swimming.
