The jockeying for position for Oscar,
Golden Globe, and critics’ group
nominations is well underway at the
box office, and though the mix of
movies opening from the beginning of
November through the end of the year is
varied and diverse, Star Wars: The Last
Jedi (opening December 15) is expected
to dominate both sales and social media.
Whether you’re looking for hard-hitting
drama, superhero sequels, sci-fi thrillers
or comic relief, here’s a roundup of the
most anticipated theatrical releases as
we wind down 2017.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3
Thor: Ragnarok: Thor, who finds
himself imprisoned on the other
side of the universe, must get back
to stop Asgard’s destruction at the
hands of Hela. But first, he has to
survive a deadly gladiatorial contest
against the Incredible Hulk. Starring

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17
Justice League: Batman, Wonder
Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the
Flash work together to face off against
Steppenwolf and Darkseid. Starring Ben

Wonder: Auggie, a kid with an

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22
The Man Who Invented Christmas:
Those looking for a holiday tale this
season will find familiarity in this story of before being arrested in the middle

Call Me By Your Name: A boy living
in Italy falls in love with an older
American man who comes to stay at
his family’s house for the summer.

The Shape of Water: In a 1960s
secret government laboratory, a lonely,
mute woman discovers a “classified
experiment” and falls in love with

Star Wars: The Last Jedi: This film
continues the storyline started in The
Force Awakens following Rey, Finn, Poe,
