Kicking off the holiday season in the Cape May is the town’s tree
lighting ceremony at 7 pm. Dec. 4 in Rotary Park. The next night, the
50th West Cape May Christmas Parade steps off at 5 p.m. Dec. 5
from the WCM Volunteer Firehouse and marches south on Broadway,
winds east on Perry, and onto Carpenter Lane in the City of Cape May.

Atlantic City and its casinos offer a multitude of activities, shows
and concerts during the holiday season. One free event worth
checking out is the Historic Smithville Holiday Light Show that runs
Nov. 26 to Jan. 6 on Smithville’s Lake Meone — 120 lit Christmas
trees floating on the water in a show of lights and music. The show
takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. For

One shore town that goes all out for the holidays is Ocean City,
N.J. From free horse and carriage rides each weekend in December
to photos and breakfast with Santa, Ocean City offers something for

visitors on a 1-mile trip through 58 acres of lights and decorations
including a 50-foot Christmas tree. After your ride, relax with hot
