QACHATS WITH LEHIGH VALLEY MOVERS AND SHAKERS Q: What drew you to your career?
A: I have always enjoyed fashion and almost went

to college for fashion merchandising. I worked part time
Photo by Sarah Evans for the former owner of Sweet Pea Children’s Shop and
enjoyed working at the store. When the opportunity came
for me to purchase the store I was excited to have the
chance to do that.
Q: What advice could you give someone who is
considering a similar career path?
A: I would tell anyone that is interested in owning a
children’s store to work in one so you can get the experience
and knowledge. It isn’t easy being in retail but you have to
love it and be able to give all you have to make it work.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: My favorite part of my job is meeting new customers
and also the children that come in. Most of my customers
are very friendly and I enjoy my conversations with them
and also to be able to help them pick things out for different
occasions. Also, it is special when babies are getting their
first pair of shoes or when a newly pregnant mom comes in
to buy something for her new baby to come. It is an exciting
time and it is wonderful to be able to share their excitement.

business, what would you say?
A: I would tell women running a business the same
thing I would tell a man. It isn’t easy but it is rewarding
knowing you are working for yourself.
By Linda Doell Q: Do you support any causes or volunteer?
A: I support Broadway Cares and the Actors Guild.
